Super Mario Movie 2023 review

Super Mario Movie 2023 review

The Super Mario Bros. Movie, produced by Illumination Studios, is a great video game adaptation that is highly enjoyable, especially for Nintendo fans. The creative team's devotion to the source material is evident, as they have incorporated references from various games and brought to life characters that were not fully developed in the games. The film has a decent story, albeit one that is predictable, but it makes up for that with its charm, humor, and genuine character interactions.

The animation is impressive, and the voice acting is excellent. Although the characters' designs have been updated, they still retain their original features and proportions. Charlie Day as Luigi and Jack Black as Bowser are standouts, and Chris Pratt delivers a great performance as Mario. However, the relationship between the brothers is undermined by the fact that they are separated for most of the movie, and Luigi is not given much to do. The film's pacing is also a bit fast, and the introspective moments are cut short.

Overall, The Super Mario Bros. Movie is a solid film that does justice to the Super Mario Bros. brand. Although it is not perfect, it is a faithful adaptation of a popular video game franchise, and it is great to see such a display of passion on the big screen. The film continues the tradition of strong and faithful adaptations of video game franchises, and it is hoped that more will follow in the future.

My Love Story With Yamada-kun at Lv999 (TV) anime review  Plot Summery: Akane Kinoshita, a female university student, recently broke up with her partner after finding his adultery with a lady he met in an online game. She had joined the game Forest of Savior (FOS) to connect with her boyfriend's hobbies, leaving her with only her gaming character to resort to following their separation. She ran into "Yamada," a guild member, while venturing around the game's hunting grounds. She opened up about her failing relationship, hoping for sympathy, only to be met with a chilly attitude of apathy. Later, at an offline encounter, Akane tried to appear appealing and make her ex regret his actions, only to be confronted with the same uninterested Yamada. As a result, their fated meeting started. Review: In the first episode, Akane is the main focus, and her struggles to move on from her cheating ex are explored in a relatable and humorous way. She seeks solace in an MMO game and ...

Re:cycle of Penguindrum anime review

Re:cycle of Penguindrum anime review After Anime Boston announced the premiere of the RE:cycle of the Penguindrum movies, I decided to finally watch the original Penguindrum anime, which is known for being complex and strange. I wanted to understand the story and assess if any confusion in the recap movies was due to editing or the material itself. As a fan of the original series, I watched the RE:Cycle films as an excuse to rewatch Penguindrum. The movies condense the series down to just over four hours, with a small amount of new footage. The new material includes a framing story centering on Shoma and Kanba as children visiting the Hole in the Sky library and live-action shots of various locations and animals. These new scenes integrate naturally with the existing content and enhance the story's theme of fate vs. free will. While the RE:cycle edit works well for Part 1 of the series, it negatively affects the pacing of Part 2. The second half of the Penguindrum anime is so pac...
