Personality 

Ichigo is a sweet and energetic girl who is always up for anything. Her emotions can get the best of her at times, and she may become very excited or angry. Ichigo is deeply in love with Masaya, and she cares a great deal about her friends. She cannot stand to see anyone get hurt and is always there to help them. Ichigo's friendly and bold personality make her a natural leader of the Tokyo Mew Mew team. She is very hardworking and courageous, but she is afraid of ghosts. In her free time, she enjoys shopping for clothes and spending time with Masaya. Her favorite foods include waffles with maple syrup, pizza, fish, dried bonito, and strawberries, but she does not like carrots. Ichigo is a hyper and cheerful person, and her friends Moe and Miwa are supportive of her relationship with Masaya. In her Mew Mew form, Ichigo acts quite preppy.

As a civil

In her civilian form, Ichigo is a bundle of energy and agility. She possesses remarkable endurance, which she demonstrated when she joined the rhythmic gymnastics team at her school and quickly improved her stamina, flexibility, reflexes, and acrobatic skills. Her enhanced physical abilities as a Mew Mew often manifest spontaneously in her human form, allowing her to jump high and land on her feet with ease. She also possesses some hand-to-hand combat skills that she can effectively combine with her acrobatics, giving her an advantage in combat situations. In addition, Ichigo is a proficient swimmer.

 

As a mew mew

Ichigo serves as the leader of the Mew Mews, a team of girls infused with animal DNA to defend the Earth from aliens. Ryou Shirogane, a wealthy 15-year-old, gave Ichigo her Mew Pendant, which allows her to transform into Mew Ichigo. Later, she meets a grey cat named Alto, who is actually Ryou in disguise, and discovers her DNA is infused with the Iriomote cat. Her transformation phrase is "Mew Mew Strawberry... Metamorphose!", and she gains cat-like abilities upon transforming.

Ichigo initially worries that her powers will affect her relationship with her crush, Masaya, but he accepts her for who she is. She first transforms when Ryou saves her from falling out of a tree. Her powers are love-based and emotion-fueled, and she partially transforms when she is excited or embarrassed, with a full transformation occurring if she becomes overly emotional. In her cat form, she must kiss another animal or human to return to normal. Additionally, her cat-like abilities include the ability to land safely from great heights and to predict the weather.
